  1. AOpen DVD-1640PRO-A FIRMWARE R1.21 UPGRADE PROCEDURE

  3. (Recommended system)
  4.  
  5. CPU:Pentium 75Mhz or higher
  6. Chip set:Intel chip set
  7. OS:MS-DOS Ver6.20 or later, or Windows9X
  8.

  10. (Firmware up-grade procedure)
  11.  
  12. 1. Turn ON the computer with the drive is connected to the host.
  13. 2. Re-boot into MS-DOS mode by selecting "End of Windows" on the "Start" menue when Windows9X is used.
  14. 3. Make sure there is no disc installed in the drive.
  15. 4. Execute UPG6A.EXE with typing as follows on command prompt mode.
  16.     Ex.) In case the drive is connected as Secondary Master and firmware file name is ASAOP121.HEX.

  18.     UPG6A /2 ASAOP121.HEX (Enter)
  19.  
  20. /0: The drive is at Primary Master
  21. /1: The drive is at Primary Slave
  22. /2: The drive is at Secondary Master
  23. /3: The drive is at Secondary Slave
  24.  
  25. 5. Firmware up-grade starts after above operation with appropriate drive connection to the host.
  26. 6. The up-grade execution is finished with displaying the new firmware version #.

  28. (Remarks)
  29. 1. Make sure the Power supply for the drive never be cut while the up-grade is in process, otherwise, 
  30. the up-grade fails and the drive never be back operative condition.
